There is a repeat of 10 stitches so to make pattern come out ok
there are 4 extra stitches. 2 stitches at sides might be a border or
edge of piece. Don't know what pattern you are talking about so I
am guessing.
Hope this helps and if you need more help, just E-mail me and be
happy to help since I have been knitting for over 40 yrs! I do
crochet a little.

Hi Vicki

I have been told that it is knitted but everyone I have shown and asked has said the same thing also that it might be a crochet stich.

But thanks for replying.
Sometimes it curls up for me too but I haven't figured out yet if it just happens naturally or whether it's just a mistake newbie knitters make! I always think it turns out okay in the end though! I'm sure your work looks fine but if you want to post a picture I'll have a look

Hi all. I've been making pullovers with drop-shoulders and I like the style for me as I'm short and have rather broad shoulders. My questions:
a) any advantage to trying out modified drop-shoulders (you know, where the sleeve is knit to about 2" longer than with the ordinary drop-shoulder sleeve and then sort of slots into the body of the pullover)?
b) are they tricky to sew in tidily? I'm thinking especially of the section where the tops of the sides of the shoulder are sewn to the parts in the front and back where a few stitches have been cast off to allow the sleeve to be inserted. I wish I could draw a picture. I don't see what overlaps over what to allow a seam to be sewn in that little segment I just described.

Thanks to anyone who can make out what I'm trying to get at here.

Hi. I'm developing osteoarthritis in my hands even tho' I'm 'only' 59. Same thing happened to my mother and like her I don't intend to stop knitting. I've stopped using metal needles and found a brand of springy plastic needles especially for people with 'hand issues'. They allow me to knit a lot longer without significant hand pain.

The brand I bought is Bryspun, made in New Zealand and recommended by the NZ arthritis society. I bought them through the web. Perhaps there are other, similar brands as well. Hope this helps someone.

Okay, I'm using a knit stitch (and alternating with a purl stitch on every other row), and the cable part is curling up. Is this going to stop once I've gotten more than a few rows done? Or is this not a good way to cast on for this blanket? Or did I make it too tight? (I didn't think it was too tight?)

Hi there. I am not a knitter at all so I am actually looking for a pattern or directions that I can pass along to my sister-in-law who is a knitter.
I am looking to have something like the picture made. It looks pretty basic too me but again I'm not a knitter (I'm a photographer).
Can anyone help??
I've decided to go with the cable cast on. It seems sort of like a reverse cast off, almost, which is what I was looking for because I want both ends to look the same.

Thanks.
