Post subject: Turkish Braid Hat

This looks like the braid stitch used in the Turkish Braid Hat from "Tops with a Twist" (Interweave Press). The book is around 10 yrs old, so I'm not sure of the availability.

It's not the chevron stitch - that is based on purls and knit stitches.

try this link - it kinda looks like what you had in your pic - it gives general instructions as to how to achieve the effect.
