I am a basic easy knitter. Retired and spend my days knitting, reading.

I enjoy knitting slippers, afghans, dishcloths, scarves and hats, and snuggle mats for the animal shelters and the vets in my area.

where I learn new stitches and then make a dishcloth, scarves
or lap throw or afghan from the stitches.

I enjoy making things and donating them to a nursing home or animal shelters.

Hi Judy,

Nice to meet you. I see that you knit for vets and for animal shelters. That's a lovely idea. I have two cats adopted from a shelter. One was lying on an old toilet seat cover. I'm sure it was clean and comfortable but I imagine it means they could use some help with cat blankets.

My problem: both of our cats like to knead and they get their claws hooked in knit items and soon snag them. How do you get around this?
