Hi everyone,
I found this site while browsing the net.
First let me say I am an old biddy aged 77. Very Happy
I have just started knitting again because I had an accident while taking my neighbours dog for a walk. I broke my right hip and my left arm and wrist.
Its getting better now but I started knitting to get my arm and wrist going again.
I have knitted on and off for nearly 60 years and my first baby cardigan was made from an old sweater that I undid to get the yarn. Yarn was on clothing coupons at that time here in the UK so we had to undo old garments to re-knit them again.
I have just finished knitting a set for a toddler. This includes the hooded jacket, sweater, bib and brace trousers and boots to go with the set. If there is anywhere that I can put the photos of them I am willing to let you see them.
I will call in as often as I can because I like to read about and see what others can do. Its good to have a hobby because it keeps the grey matter going.
God Bless All.

Hi Maywalk

Welcome. I'm sure that you will enjoy this forum as much as all of the rest of us.

I'm one of those oldies, too, who has been knitting at least as long as you have.

Hope you heal real soon---maybe it will be a blessing in disguise---except for the pain that is---to get you back to knitting. It's such a great pastime.

I had a short break from knitting while my boys were growing up. Then ended up having both hips replaced---which got the knitting going again, and it never stopped. I always have at least one project going even though I might be working on another craft of some kind.

Take care, and heal soon.

Elaine

Hello Elaine.
Thankyou for the welcome.
To be honest I only went back to knitting to get my wrist and arm going again. It has helped but I still cant hold it properly in my left hand and I doubt if I could ever hold anything too big now. Sad

I have no time for other hobbies really because I have four websites to keep on top of. None to do with knitting though. Smile

Regards and thankyou for your good wishes.
Maywalk
