| Post subject: What type of increase?

I'm sure I'm not the only one to ask this, but I couldnt' seem to find a previous post.
My pattern simply says "increase 1" how do I know what type of increase is needed. I rather not do a YO (I don't want the holes this gives me), so can I do a bar (front & back knit)? or should I be using a different method? This particular pattern are 2 needle baby booties which increase 1 at the beggining of each row, then knit for 4 rows, then will decrease 1 time for each row.
Sorry if this is a duplicate question, if you could point me to the previous post I would appreciate it. _________________ =^..^=

| Is this a stockinette stitch? It would help to know what type of stitch you are doing. |

From the knit side, you go to knit the stitch, and before you pull it off the needle, you go back through the loop, and make another stitch. It is hard to explain, so I would check on this link for the increase you need.
